The design and optimization of underground mines present challenges due to the complexity of geological modeling, tunnel planning, and stope optimization. The lack of specialized training in mining software limits the ability to develop efficient extraction plans, affecting resource recovery and operational productivity in underground mining.

Our Course of Underground Mine Design with Mining Software equips mining engineers with the necessary skills to design underground workings, manage block models, and optimize extraction sequences using specialized software. This comprehensive program covers tunnel design, stope modeling, attribute management, and topographic data processing. Participants will develop competencies in mine layout planning, volumetric calculations, and reconciliation of extracted material. Additionally, they will apply advanced visualization techniques, import and manipulate geological data, and generate reports for operational decision-making. By the end of the course, they will be able to create efficient mine designs, integrate geotechnical considerations, and enhance productivity through software-driven analysis.

WHAT WILL YOU ACHIEVE?

Master project setup by managing layers, external references, and process mapping, ensuring an efficient workflow for underground mine design in specialized software.

Generate and manipulate polylines to create mine layouts, adjust gradients, connect sections, and use editing tools like Extend, Trim, Fillet, and Chamfer for precise tunnel modeling.

Import and process topographic data from CSV, DXF, Vulcan, Datamine, and MineSight, enabling accurate surface and subsurface modeling for underground mine planning.

Design underground tunnels and ramps by creating solid models from section profiles, defining decline routes, and optimizing access paths between different mining levels.

Configure block models by visualizing dynamic and static sections, generating solids, and creating grade-tonnage curves to enhance orebody evaluation and mine planning.

Develop stope designs using wireframes and interactive evaluation techniques, ensuring optimized extraction sequences and maximizing resource recovery in underground operations.

Manage attribute data by generating, editing, and applying formulas to block models, enabling precise classification of geological and operational parameters.

Process and interpret geotechnical data from topographic surveys and point clouds to design stable excavations and reconcile planned vs. actual mined volumes.

Apply advanced plotting techniques by configuring print views, developing cross-sections, and generating professional mine plans for operational reporting and analysis.

Optimize underground mine planning by integrating stope layouts, block modeling techniques, and software-driven analysis, ensuring efficient and sustainable resource extraction.
