The accurate interpretation of subsurface geology is essential for resource estimation and exploration success. However, the lack of specialized methodologies and software proficiency limits the precision of geological modeling, affecting decision-making and operational efficiency in mining and exploration projects.

Our Course of Implicit and Explicit Geological Modeling equips geological engineers with the skills to manage geological data, construct block models, and generate accurate subsurface representations. This comprehensive program covers project configuration, drillhole data visualization, surface and solid creation, and advanced modeling techniques. Participants will learn to integrate implicit and explicit modeling methods, optimize data processing, and apply geostatistical tools for resource estimation. The course also focuses on data validation, compositing, and interpretation strategies, ensuring accurate geological characterization. By mastering these techniques, professionals will enhance resource evaluation, streamline exploration workflows, and improve geological decision-making in mining and geoscience projects.

WHAT WILL YOU ACHIEVE?

Optimize geological data management by configuring projects, importing databases, and verifying geological information in MinePlan, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

Generate and analyze drillhole data using advanced visualization tools, creating customized legends, grade histograms, and section views for geological interpretation and decision-making.

Create and manipulate surfaces and solids through the extraction of roof and floor box points, generating geological vein solids, and integrating topography for accurate 3D modeling.

Develop geological block models by configuring stratigraphy, adding lithological variables, and implementing surface constraints to enhance subsurface resource estimation.

Apply implicit and explicit modeling techniques to define fault structures, intrusions, and stratigraphic layers, improving geological interpretations and deposit characterization.

Integrate and process drillhole data using compositing techniques, verifying sample integrity, and encoding geological zones for robust ore body modeling and resource estimation.

Generate geological sections and envelopes by applying NS, EW, and HZ sectioning tools, enhancing visualization and facilitating the delineation of geological domains.

Execute advanced interpolation and filtering by applying anisotropic adjustments, defining multiple geological events, and refining geological data for optimal model accuracy.

Optimize print layouts and reporting by configuring section plots, adding legends, and exporting final geological models for documentation and presentation purposes.

Improve resource estimation accuracy by integrating geostatistical tools, analyzing geological variability, and ensuring precise validation of geological and compositional data.
